Alicia Keys and John Legend joined forces to bless our ears with their melodious voices for Verzuz of the day of the emancipation of the theme of the event on Friday — a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the united States. The artists were destined to go head-to-head for the night, but his two-and-one-half-hour performance ended up being much more than a musical battle. It was a celebration of life and love with the dancing and the champagne, in addition to a message from Michelle Obama.

Keys and Legend started the Instagram of Live events with a cover of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song”, each on their own piano. Then worked through their big hits, “Empire State of Mind”, to “the common People” — while reflecting on the courses of your career. They also played new music, with the Legend of the song “Never ending” and the Keys of the realization of the “Perfect Way to Die.”

The duo had a lot of fans rolling in the comments of the entire event, including the former First Lady. Obama made a “Happy juneteenth!” message to the singers, which prompted Keys to dedicate “A Woman’s Worth” to her and to every woman watching.
