Miley Cyrus Continues Her Reign of Rock With a Haunting Cover of "Zombie" by The Cranberries

Miley Cyrus’s covers collection is expanding after her Oct. 17 performance at NIVA’s Save Our Stages Fest in Los Angeles. The singer chose tracks that fit right in line with her recent rock era — especially her rendition of “Zombie” by The Cranberries, which is not to be missed.

Cyrus’s set comes on the heels of weeks full of covers, from her recent Backyard Sessions to her “Heart of Glass” performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. It’s a true talent to turn another artist’s song into something of your own, and Cyrus is definitely flexing that muscle. Her “Zombie” moment leans heavily into a heavy, haunting rock sound that clearly pulls from Dolores O’Riordan’s original vocals while giving the song a new twist.

In addition to “Zombie,” Cyrus also performed “Boys Don’t Cry” by The Cure and her own track, “Midnight Sky.” Watch the set in full above, or skip ahead to 3:10 to start with the Cranberries tribute.
