Michael B. Jordan, and Amazon Release of the Drive-In Movie Series

Michael B. Jordan and his production company, identification of the Society, have partnered with Amazon Studios to bring a wide range of movies right to the comfort of your own car. “A Night at the Drive-In” is coming to 20 cities across the country this summer and will feature multicultural voices in the industry. “With this drive in the summer series, I hope that friends and families are able to not only enjoy, but to learn and grow,” Jordan said in a press release. “Now more than ever, the amplification of Black and Brown stories means to engage the culture and speak to the hearts and minds about the world in which we live. As we take this opportunity to redesign the community and proximity, I’m very excited that these movies will be shared and celebrated throughout the country.”

A Night at the Drive-In will kick off on 1 July with back-to-back screenings of influential films at no cost to the viewers. It will continue with a new series of movies every week until the end of August. Not only is Jordan highlight different stories, but all attendees will receive snacks always of Black and Brown-owned businesses, including Water Way, Pipcorn Popcorn and Participate Cookies.

“When Michael and our friends at Outlier proposed this idea, we instantly agreed that there was no better time to celebrate these inspired films with different stories, while bringing communities together to share in the experience,” Jennifer Salke, director of Amazon Studios, said. “The drive-in movie theaters offer a unique experience in that they provide an inspiring and joyful experience of community, while still maintaining the safety and security of the social distance.”
