Charlize Theron, Andy is the oldest of the immortals in the new Netflix movie The Old Guardbut how old is his character supposed to? Your story does not seem to point to a specific event that helps to pinpoint his age, as his colleagues, but the majority of the public is capture a reference to at least narrow down what age Andy could be.

The key to Andy’s age that is said near the end of the film, almost as quickly that you can’t notice that: she refers to as “Andromache of Scythia” in a scene, and the same title appears again in the “bulletin board” of credits. Andy “real” name, which means that it originated in the empire of Scythia — that is very, very old! Scythia it was a former empire in eastern Europe and central Asia, which is believed to have spread from around the 11th century BC to the 2nd century CE. Doing the math, then, would be Andy’s age, in younger people, somewhere around 1800 years, and in the most ancient, could be more than 3,000 years old!

In the comic books on which the TELEVISION program is based, however, Andy is even greater: she said specifically to be 6,732 years of age. The name Andromache refers to two different figures of ancient mythology. In Greek mythology, Andromache was a Trojan princess by marriagethe wife of the Trojan prince Hector, who was killed by the hero Achilles. According to the legend, was taken as a concubine by Achilles, the son of the Neoptolemeus and survived all of the figures of the Trojan War, which is supposed to have occurred somewhere around the 13th or 12th century BC. Other Andromache crossed with mythological figures: a vase painting date of around 570 BC represents Andromachethe queen of the Amazons, making the battle with Heracles (also known as Hercules).

Andy’s friends are a little more specific backstories that point to their ages. Joe and Nicky both became immortal at the same time, the struggle during the First Crusade, which took place between 1096 and 1099. The comics expand on their story (and relationship) in a somewhat hilarious fashion: they were on opposite sides of the battle, killed each other, and came to the conclusion that they were both immortal when saved killing each other and relive every moment. Their fourth member of the team, Booker, became immortal during the Napoleonic wars in the early 19th century. Like his colleagues, his story is more in the comic: he was a French soldier who died by attrition during the infamous long Russian winter. And in the last immortal, the Nile, is a modern-day soldier, probably in his late twenties (the actress KiKi Layne is 28). Together, all this certainly puts Andy as the oldest of the Old Guard, probably for a millennium or more.
