On Thursday, John Legend premiered the music video for his new song “Wild”, with Gary Clark Jr., starring his wife Chrissy Teigen. The couple first met on the set of the Legend of 2006, music video “Stereo,” which was directed by Nabil Elderkin; and, in what feels like a full circle of time, the Legend of the most recent video was directed by the same filmmaker. In a Q&A conducted before the video of the premiere, Legend, and Teigen, spoke about how the music videos that have appeared on a whole, have been the chronicle of his family, with the “Wild” be the first to feature the son of Miles.
“I wanna drive / Wild, wild, wild,” Legend sings, and that is exactly what “Wild” is they make you feel. Against a magnificent backdrop of the ocean — who shot the video, while in Mexico — the video continues the Legend and Teigen as they fall in love, fight, and do as a family. As if the lush setting wasn’t enough, the video is also intercut with scenes featuring a pair of wild horses, whose relationship mimics that of Teigen and Legend. Perhaps the biggest surprise of all is the one that ends in a shot of Teigen cradling her stomach, announcing that they are expecting their third child. You can see the full video of “Wild” above.
