Heather Morris is a honor to Naya Rivera in a special way. On Tuesday, the 33-year-old, the actress released a dance tribute to her Glee cost, which died by accidental drowning in California’s Lake Piru earlier this month. Heather, that is carried out to Naya’s 2019 song “Radio Silence,” he shared the emotional routine on Instagram and opened up about the grief process. “I want to share something very personal with you all,” she captioned the video. “The duel is viewed very differently around the world . . . but one of the things for certain: I’ve been feeling, it’s hard to feel joy or to keep busy when mourning, without thinking that you are not honoring that person, or you’re forgetting them. But @hubbell_woodshop reminded me that honor to someone can mean that you are enjoying your life FOR them.”
Then thanked his fans for their support during a difficult time. “I made 1 million followers in these last few weeks and at first I was resentful because I learned from a tragedy, but after giving it a break.. I realized that all of you have just surrounded me with love and support,” Heather continued. “I just see that the angels wrap their wings around me 🙏🏻 So I’m celebrating 1 million today in a tribute to @nayarivera with your music and your voice that will always be my favorite.” Heather shared an especially close bond with Naya on the screen as the couple portrayed friends — and the eventual wives — Brittany Pierce and Santana Lopez.
Heather is among many Glee stars — including Kevin McHale, Darren Criss, Amber Riley, and Harry Shum Jr — who have shared poignant tributes to Naya. “She was the most talented person I’ve ever known. There is nothing she could do, and I’m furious we’re not going to get to see more” Kevin wrote on Instagram. “I am grateful for all the ways she made me a better person.
