Instagram Live music videos were just a matter of time. Selena Gomez just released a surprise collaboration with newcomer Trevor Daniel, and the remix of Daniel of the catchy song, “beyond Life,” came with a clever lyric video which shows both artists singing through Instagram Live — glitches and all — as lyrics pop up in the comments below.
The song alludes to the experience of walking away from toxic situations or relationships, with lines like “Think of how I used to use, only thing, I’m used to/last night was the last night of my past life.” Gomez expressed to be immediately drawn to the song in a video chat with Daniel: “I loved the fact that it was sort of like a story about all the things that we tend to hold back.” She added, “And I’m very, very vocal about my personal experiences and make decisions that are not necessarily healthy for me.” Check out the lyric video above.
