Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker may have generated various reactions, but one thing is for sure: J. J. Abrams only definitively closed the third film of the trilogy of the Star Wars franchise. Given the enormous financial success of the recent trio, the question is not whether we will see a new batch of films — is when you’re going to get. Now, there are several film projects for discussion — here is all the information we have about them.
The Next Project
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Star Wars-lovers expect to see a project falling in December 2022. We are going to learn the deputy director for the project in 2020. This can be the same project that Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss signed before leaving to focus on new Netflix content. Benioff and Weiss according to reports, had planned a project based around the Knights of the Old Republic, so that the new director may very well pick up where you left off.
A Kevin Present Project
Lucasfilm announced in September that you would be working with Kevin Present in a new movie. The producer extraordinaire, the president of Marvel Studios and chief creative officer of Marvel Entertainment has a reputation in the industry for the manufacturing of some of the best box-office toppers, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. There is No information about the movie, but Present has a actor in minda source told The Hollywood Reporter. Since Present has a lot of Marvel movies scheduled (not exaggerating when we say “a ton”), that we can expect of this film several years away.
Rian Johnson of the Trilogy
Prior to the release of Rian Johnson The Last Of The Jedithere has been talks of he is developing another Star Wars trilogybut there is not a strong plans in place right now. Movies that feature new characters, potentially in a different era. Once more, there are few details, but the director confirmed in November that he was still in talks with Lucasfilm.
Lucasfilm confirmed that his next film will come out in Dec. 16, 2022with other release dates in 2024 and 2026. We do not know with certainty if the next movies in a trilogy or be independent of the offers, but we can’t wait to see what the galaxy has in store far, far away in the future. For now, do not always get their solution with The Mandalorian (in addition to the truth that never-ending Star Wars content out there).
Taika Waititi of the Star Wars Movie
On May 4, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that another Star Wars flick was in the works with Marvel director Taika Waititi at the helm. The winner of the Oscar, the director made his debut in the franchise as the voice of the bounty hunter droid IG-11 in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, which he also directed the end of the season.
Variety reported for the first time that it was Waititi in talks to direct a Star Wars movie in January, and although the confirmation does not come with a release date, we know that 1917 writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns has signed on to cowrite the script. The only question now is whether Waititi the film is one of the untitled Star Wars films a date for the launch in December 2022 (in replacement of the cancelled Benioff and Weiss project), 2024 and 2026, or if this is a new project.
