ABC has chosen its new Bachelor, Matt James, and it is definitely a familiar face for bachelor Nation. The 28-year-old real estate broker was initially meant to appeared on Clare Crawley season as one of its contestants, but also up close with Tyler Cameron of Hannah Brown of the season The Bachelorette. Matt and Tyler are long-time best friends, companions and business partners. Two of them run the charity ABC Food Tours together, and are as likely to be seen wasting time on Instagram as the promotion of his charity work.
Ironically, Tyler almost predicted Matt to join the franchise last year. “I can’t wait to see [Matt] the next year,” he joked to The people in 2019, when asked about that he would choose to be the next Bachelor. “I know that my mother signed with him.” His interview with The people it also revealed just how far their friendship goes: they met at university when they were both playing football at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, several years ago.
