Taylor Swift is asking fans to “vote early” in the middle of the united States Postal Service’s financial struggles. The federal agency is making with regard to the changes, as the removal of collection boxes and the reduction of the hours of operation, to compensate for the lack of funding. The The folklore the singer encourages fans to take action, and called the President of the Donald Trump — in a pair of tweets sent in the afternoon of the Saturday.
“Trump calculates the dismantling of USPS demonstrates one thing clearly: He is very AWARE that we do not want him as our president. He is the chosen one to cheat blatantly and to the millions of Americans at risk life in an effort to stay in power,” she wrote. “Donald Trump’s ineffective leadership seriously the worsening of the crisis we are in and now is taking advantage of it to subvert and destroy our right to vote and to vote safely. Request an early ballot. The early voting.”

We’re going to break Taylor’s accusations. To start with, what is what is meant by the President of Trump “calculated dismantling” of the USPS? So, the president recently chose to block funding for the essential federal character of the organization on your false vote-by-mail concerns, despite the USPS losing billions, in large part due in part to the coronavirus pandemic. That’s not to mention his refusal to spend $89 billion rescue bill in the month of April. This will only make it more difficult for the voters to send their ballots, especially during a pandemic.
Due to the lack of funding and the subsequent drop in the mail delivery, the USPS warned almost all the states ballots will likely arrive late — therefore, Taylor’s reason for requesting an absentee ballot early and vote early. This is a great first step to contributing to the democratic process, but there is still more you can do. Since the USPS does not receive taxpayer money more, you can help fund its own operations through the purchase of a pack (or two . . . or three!) of the stamps. You can also get in contact with the local authorities, signing petitions, and even the purchase of USPS merchandise for yourself or a friend.
