Despite his youthful face, Jurnee Smollett in the role of the vivacious Letitia “Leti” Lewis in the HBO Lovecraft Country it is one of many in its extensive curriculum. The 33-year-old actress has been booked and busy since he made his TV debut on the Patti LaBelle-led series Out All Night in the year 1992. She has built up a steady list of roles from various series in the decade of the ’90s, including the iconic ABC family sitcoms like Full House and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, as well as a brief comedy of manners with his five brothers, In Our Ownfrom 1994 to 1995.
Smollett made her film debut in Francis Ford Coppola Jackbut it was his role as a 10 year Eve in Kasi Lemmons’s 1997 film Eve’s Bayou that really made her a household name. Starring alongside Lynn Whitfield, Samuel L. Jackson, Meagan Good, and Debbi Morgan, Smollett portrait of a young girl caught in the web of lies and deceit spun by all around him earned him several award nominations and a win at the Critics’ Choice Award. She went on to become a familiar face on the small screen, making appearances on programs such as Strong Medicine, ERand Grey’s anatomy. Fans will no doubt remember seeing it as a regular series in modern classics like Friday Night Lights, The Defenders Of The, True Bloodand, most recently, WGN America Metro.
