Not only the father-daughter duo seem to be the same, but they are both very talented. In fact, when Sofia told Lionel that she wanted to follow in his footsteps, he doled out a little tough love. “I said, ‘I’d like that a lot of failure, young people,'” Lionel said to the journalists in a American Idol event in February. “We’re in a business where it is the way to recover and ‘yes, yes, yes’ don’t feel awful, so you have to get hit in the face.
