Head empty, only Olivia Rodrigo songs. That’s pretty much been my mental state since the 18-year-old musician dropped her debut album Sour last week. I can already tell you this record will top my Spotify Wrapped at the year’s end, and you know what song will get me there? “Favorite Crime.” Thankfully, Rodrigo recently shared her first live performance of the song, giving me another avenue to listen and dive deep into hard feelings.
The folksy track is haunting and heavenly at the same time, and becomes even more so when Rodrigo is joined by her chorus of background singers. In my mind, they’re serenading a neighborhood with lyrics of love and loss. The theme of Sour is heartbreak, and it’s felt poignantly in this performance. Watch the full video above.
