Matt James Is ABC’s First Black Bachelor

THE BACHELOR - (ABC/Craig Sjodin)MATT JAMES

We have not yet come to Clare Crawley season The Bachelorette however, but we already know that it moves into the Bachelor mansion after her. Friday, June 12, ABC announced its leadership for the season 25 The Bachelor’s Degree In very ahead of schedule, but thanks to god, is a familiar face for bachelor Nation. Say hello to the new Bachelor, Matt James, looking for love and making history while doing so!

The 28-year-old real estate broker was initially meant to feature in Crawley season as one of its contestants, although Bachelor’s degree from the Nation has been known as Tyler Cameron of the life of the best friend, companion and business partner for more time. Two of them run the charity ABC Food Tours together, and are as likely to be seen wasting time on Instagram as the promotion of his charity work. Cameron actually predicted James important role in the Degree of the franchise in the year 2019 when The people asked that he would choose to be the next Bachelor. “I can’t wait to see [Matt] the next year,” he joked. “I know that my mother signed with him.” Talk about manifesting the future!

“Matt has been on our radar since February, when the producers approached him to join the Bachelor of the Nation, as part of Clare on the season. When the filming could not go ahead as planned, gave us the benefit of time to get to know Matt and all agreed that it would be a perfect Bachelor,” ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke said in a press release announcing the casting. “We know that we have a responsibility to ensure that the stories of love that we are seeing on the screen are representative of the world in which we live, and we are proud to be in the service to our public. This is only the beginning and we will continue to take action with respect to issues relating to diversity in this franchise. We feel very privileged to have Matt as our first Black Bachelor and we cannot wait to embark on this journey with him.”

The news of Santiago’s casting comes in the midst of shouting of the Bachelor franchise’s blatant lack of diversity. James is going to be the first Black high school in its entirety, the 18-year history and the second Black wire in the franchise, after Rachel Lindsay, who was the 13th season of the Bachelorette. Lindsay has been one of the people that are calling for the ABC’s of the franchise recognizes that its system is not designed for people of color and make changes in their production. The Fans have begun a Bachelor’s degree in the Diversity of the Campaign to keep the beloved franchise responsible for BIPOC representation and antiracism. While James casting takes care of a huge point (the casting of a Black lead), the franchise has many more actions to take before the fans are satisfied.

When asked on Friday Good Morning America if you think that his casting marks a turning point for the franchise, James said, “I think that is a step in the right direction. When Rachel speaks, we listen. She has a very important voice in all of this, being the [first Black Bachelorette]so I think that we are all following in that conversation, and hopefully, this is the first of many Black men to be in the position I’m in now.”
