In addition to starring some of our favorite franchises — Pretty Little Liars and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Beforeto name a few — the very talented Janel Parrish also has some serious singing skills. So, of course, it makes sense that she’s starring as a music manager called Gina in her latest film, Powerful Oak. A decade after losing his vocalist brother on the way to one of their concerts, Gina celebrates 10 years music prodigy of Oak that is inspired to get his life back on track and reunite the band, this time with Oak as the new vocalist. In celebration of the film (which is now), we spoke with the actress in our Q&A series, Last Call. POPSUGAR: What was your last day on the set of Mighty Oak as?
Sad! We only had 14 days to shoot the film, but they were all so close, so fast. There were definitely tears on the last [day] followed by one of the parties.
PS: What is the last thing that you sent a text message?
“Tell Kleo mom loves you” to my mom!
PS: What is the last thing you watched on Netflix?
Schitt’s Creek. It is my go-to any time I want something fun to watch!
PS: What is the last thing you ordered online?
Hand sanitizer!!!
PS: What is the last thing you do before you go to bed?
I got a million face products.
PS: What was the last gift you’ve ever received?
A bridesmaid proposal box of my best friend.

A lot of makeup Mighty Oak.

PS: What is the ultimate secret to beauty that you’ve learned that you always do now?
Translucent powder on top of your foundation. Never thought I’d use it, but it makes your makeup stay five more times.

“Rain on Me” Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
PS: What is the last piece of advice you received that changed your life?
We can’t control what happens, only our response.

Running on the treadmill.
