If you are looking for a fun comedy about friendship between women, and funny antics, I recommend Netflix’s Desperados. The film follows three friends (Nasim Pedrad, Anna Camp, and Sarah Burns) who embark on an impromptu trip to Mexico in a effort to delete an email from one of them sent to her boyfriend. What follows is a crazy adventure that you’ll probably never forget. As Anna perfectly put it, “You really can’t leave your house and travel, but you can watch a movie and pretend that you’re having a wild, crazy girl trip in Mexico.”
In honor of the film’s release, we spoke with the Perfect Pitch the alum as part of our new Q&A series, Last Call. Keep reading to get more information on Anna time of filming, which is currently excessive consumption of watching on Netflix, and the lovely last gift that he received from his boyfriend, Michael Johnson.
POPSUGAR: What was your last day on the set of “Desperados” as?
The last day on set was a night shoot for me. We were at the resort in los Cabos, and was the stage where we throw the water on Wesley, and is running around the towel. It was so good to go in a fun, high note. I remember LP, the director, said to us the improvisation of things, and Sarah Burns and I have improved that high five, where we missed each other. I think that I wrapped around maybe 3 in the morning or something like that. It was super fun, and we had a great time.
PS: When was the last time you did something spontaneous with your best friends?
I have no idea. Can that be my answer? Only because, my God, we’ve been quarantined for so long, I think that I have not done anything spontaneous in that it feels like a year, but I know it has probably been about six months or something, so I really have no idea.
PS: What is the last thing that you sent a text message?
The last thing I texted her was good morning to my dad. I wrote, “Morning, Daddy-O. I hope that you and Judy [my sister] have fun at the beach,” with a heart emoji.
PS: What is the last thing you watched on Netflix?
I am in the middle of the observation of Lineage. I’m catching up on it. It is so, so, so good. I’m in season three, and I have about six more episodes to go. Oh my God. I’m like, “How can I miss this show?” But thank God I did, so now I have something to watch that is amazing.
PS: What is the last thing you ordered online?
I Postmated a little sushi last night, if that counts.
PS: What is the last photo in your camera roll?
The last photo in my camera roll I is lying on my couch with my dog Rocky, and my boyfriend’s dog, Billy. I want a puppy. We’re going to get another one, I think. I was like, “Now is the time to get a puppy and train because there is nothing else to do.”
PS: What is the last thing you do before you go to bed?
I have to wash my face and brush my teeth, no matter what. I can not sleep if I have makeup on.
PS: what is The last thing you took home from a set?
The last thing that led me to the house of a set, was a pair of these amazing button of Madewell jeans from the set of Perfect Harmony. Our costume designer, was so nice that she let us take home a few things. So, let me take home this pair of button jeans that I love so much.
PS: What is the last beauty secrets/tip that I learned that you always do now?
I was always a little afraid to do it, but then my makeup artist would do on the set of Desperadoswhere you have a hair dryer and hold it near your eyelash curler. It is not correct, but that type of heat it up. So now what I do every time I curl my lashes — it makes them curl even better.
PS: What was the last gift you’ve ever received?
The last gift I received was a bouquet of flowers from my boyfriend. I think that there are tiger lilies and some red roses. It is very colorful bouquet of flowers.
PS: What was the last song you sang in the shower?
For some reason, I was singing a song of Jennifer Lopez “Waiting For tonight.” I don’t know why, but that song has been in my head. You must have heard it on the radio. I don’t even know. But for some reason, it’s definitely “Waiting For Tonight” by Jennifer Lopez.
PS: What is the last piece of advice you received that changed your life?
There is a lot of stress going on in the world right now, and my dad always says this to me, he’s always like, “This too shall pass”. You can’t really get involved in the negative. I always say and repeat to myself again and again and again. I only know that what goes up must come low and vice versa, and this too shall pass.
PS: What was your last workout?
I’m super lucky in that I bought my own elliptical machine a couple of Christmases ago. He gave Me a Christmas gift. So, I pump up the jams and I ellipticize for about 45 minutes and then do weights and abs. So, the last time I did it was, I would say, last week.
PS: What is the last book you read?
I’m in the middle of reading a book called The Sun Motel. It is this period noir creepy mystery set in 1982, about a girl who is working in this creepy motel and all these strange things begin to happen to her. It is really good.
PS: What is the last song/album you’ve heard?
I was listening to Miranda Lambert’s “Bluebird.” I love that song. It is so great. I want to learn so I can sing in the karaoke always karaoke opens.
