As it becomes increasingly more difficult to definitively know what day of the week, the months, without doubt, have blurred together. Fortunately, Reese Witherspoon has offered a solution to the mark of this turbulent year in a creative way, uh, photographic way.
In early August, the actress shared a three-by-three collage with a picture of each month, from January to September. While the beginning of the year was emblematized by Legally Blonde‘s Elle Woods in all of its primped and full of life, of glory, of the whole summer was the same distressed shot of Reese as Cheryl Strayed in Wild. It is perfect and painful at the same time. Reese simply captioned the meme, “Yes. #2020challenge.”
The comments and the laughter emoji quickly rolled in from celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Uzo Aduba, Gwyneth Paltrow, and more. Cheryl Strayed herself, even, commented, “there is No more remedy than to keep walking.” Indeed, many of the famous would soon offer their own takes on the challenge, including Kerry Washington, whose meme includes images of Scandal and Small Fires Everywhere, as well as Jennifer Garner, who went ahead and had your meme to represent throughout the year.
To join the now ubiquitous challenge, you can use various free collage or meme of applications, such as Canva, Mematicand Instagram’s own Design of the application. Now all that’s left to do is to begin to cure your best (and worst) selfies!
