The second season of The Political premieres on Netflix on June 19, but if you can’t wait to see their favorite characters, the trailer should hold you over until then. While the first season, followed by Payton Hobart (Ben Platt) campaign to be president of the class, the second season looks to Payton as he takes on holder Dede Standish (Judith Light) for a seat in the State Senate of New York. As you would expect from a Ryan Murphy show, nothing goes well for any person and there is more drama than you could probably even imagine.
In the trailer, which fell on the 15th of June, we see glimpses of upheaval at both ends of the campaign. There are Payton as he struggles with whether or not you are going to play dirty to win, all the time dealing with her scandalous past — including both the cultural appropriation and the visit of a River (David Corenswet). Then there is Dede, which is in disagreement with his right-hand woman, Hadassah Gold (Bette Midler).
However, you will have to wait for the season premiere to see what is happening in Georgina Hobart (Gwyneth Paltrow) life, as well as the Equipment Payton (Laura Dreyfuss as McAfee, Rahne Jones as the Sky Leighton, Theo Germaine as James Sullivan, Julia Schlaepfer as Alice Charles, and Lucy Boynton as Astrid Sloan) is negotiating a high-stakes campaign.
