Dixie D’amelio has been teasing his debut single, “Be Happy”, in TikTok over the past month (with a capella clip gaining more than 16 million views in the first 24 hours alone!), and at the age of 18 years, social media star and the sister of Charli D’amelio delivered on the 1st of July, not only with a relatable pop song, but also his first music video.
With the song being recorded in a “virtual studio”, while at home social distancing, will be referred directly to the mental health of the struggles that many people face. “I am very grateful for the people who surround me and the opportunities I have been given, but some days, as we all know, it is not easy to be happy,” D’amelio said of the song. “My hope is that the listener can be reminded that it is ok to feel what we feel. It is well [to] having a bad day. We all have them and you are not alone.” See the “Be Happy” music video above!
