Vanessa Morgan and Michael Kopech have separated after five months of marriage. Monday, The people reported that the 24-year-old White Sox pitcher filed for divorce from the 28-year Riverdale the star of June 19, after The Chicago Tribune broke for the first time the news, citing court records.
Though neither Vanessa nor Michael have publicly commented on their split, the news comes just days after Vanessa announced that she was pregnant with her first child on Instagram. A representative of Vanessa confirmed The people that Michael is the father of the baby, but refused to comment on the divorce filing. A spokesman for Michael did not immediately respond to The people‘s request for comment.
Vanessa and Michael on Wednesday after nearly two years together in an intimate ceremony in Florida last January. The actress shared the news of her pregnancy on Instagram last Friday. Along with an album of photos from their gender reveal celebration, she wrote, “I am delighted to welcome my baby into the world this month of January đź’™. This guy already brought me so much happiness and a sense of a greater purpose. I can not wait to meet you!!”
