Netflix’s south african drama, Blood And Waterit premiered on May 20, and fans are already eager for the next chapter. Directed by Nosipho Dumisa, the series follows 16-year Puleng Khulamo (Ama Qamata) as she has family drama, a love triangle, and the dangers of the high school of politics for a reason: she is convinced that the popular girl Fikile Bhele (Khosi Ngema), is actually his long lost sister that was kidnapped at birth 17 years ago. The teenager apparently resolves the case in the show of the final season, but that still leaves a lot of unanswered questions. Which means Netflix has more than enough reason to renew the series for a second season!!!
From the show of the recently-arrived online, it is very early for the streamer to announce plans to renew, but if you’re wondering where the series can go from the end, we are more than happy to offer some ideas. Just because Puleng is convinced that Fikile is, in fact, his older sister, Phumelele, does not mean that their worlds are instantly set of rights. Fikile was quite comfortable in his life as a Bhele before Puleng turned around and exposed all of his secrets, so there is no way of knowing if she wants to return to his “true family”. After all, the Bheles are your family, regardless of how you arrived at your life. They raised she and the love of it — why would he want to leave them for the people that has never known? In addition, despite fervently Puleng delivered the news of his origin, not by the forms Puleng presence has interrupted Fikile is the life!
So, there is definitely a lot of drama to hash out between Puleng and Fikile in another season. There is also the potential of throuple between Chris, Mark, and Zama to explore, Puleng’s relationship with KB, and Wade, and of course, the truth behind Fikile’s kidnapping. Once the adults learn of what happened, someone is going to have to go down for him. So give the people what they want, Netflix, we need another season Blood And Water!
