Theories About Hulu Palm Springs Film Final

Hulu Palm Springs is a quirky comedy full of fun adventures, but we would not expect anything less of a Lonely Island production. The film is starring Andy Samberg and cristin Milioti as two guests from the wedding with the name Nyles, Sarah, who accidentally gets stuck in a time loop when they encounter a mysterious cave. As they are forced to live the same day over and over again, end up falling for each other in the process. Despite all the crazy situations they get themselves into, the most intriguing part of the film happens in the end.

After studying quantum physics, Sarah comes up with a plan that may or may not get out of the time loop for good: it has to explode in the mysterious cave before the day reset. Although Nyles is not convinced of that at first, after having grown content with the time loop, he decides to jump all in with Sarah . . . literally. At the end of the film, it seems that Sarah and Nyles have successfully made their way out of the temporal loop as the owners of the vacancy of the pool were hanging out in finally return home. However, as the shot pulls out, we get a glimpse of dinosaurs walking in the distance, as Sarah and Nyles saw earlier in the film.

So, what really happened at the end of the movie? Well, unfortunately, there is not a clear answer. “The intention always was to create an ending that was open to interpretation, which could lead to different conclusions about what had happened, depending on how you look in the world, since it was in a more optimistic or more cynical light,” director Max Barbakow said The Los Angeles Times. “I think that we all think different things happen after that pull us away from the pool. That is the fun. All I wanted to get out of a final, you can get out of it.”

“Without a doubt, spoke to us about the end much,” Samberg added. “There were many iterations of writing, and even in many iterations shot and cut together and screened for small friends and family screenings. We don’t want the end to feel saccharine, like, ‘Yay, everything works!’ That felt untrue to the tone of the film and of the promise which he had made with the characters. But, at the same time, you do not want to end on a note that is bitter and depressing. It was a delicate balance.”

Despite the fact that the cast and creators not to reveal what really happened, we certainly have a couple of theories. Read below for our thoughts on such an intriguing final.
