James Gunn gave a first look at the Suicide Squad sequel’s characters during the virtual DC FanDome on Aug. 22. Though originally believed to be a reboot, the impending sequel will be a continuation that features familiar faces while also introducing new characters to carry on the franchise. While Will Smith won’t be in the sequel due to scheduling conflicts, his exit did make way for Idris Elba to step in as a new character, so we’re not too mad about it!
