Like many people who grew up in the ’90s, I was a devoted BSC fan, and honestly, nothing has changed. With the new TV show coming to Netflix, now is the perfect time to look back at the best Babysitters Club books — especially because some of them are inspired by the stories of the first season.
Ann M. Martin’s classic book series keeps young readers coming back for more by using the mixture of the health of those who grow up in a very close-knit community, with the narration of stories that do not talk down to the audience. In the course of more than 200 books (including the Super Specials, mysteries, and other spin-offs), Kristy, Claudia, Stacey, Mary Anne, and the rest of the club deal with everything, from crushes to a chronic disease. If the young people who are dealing with the standard of the average of the school of drama or more serious social problems, Martin is always approached every subject with the same level of care and attention.
