Take the 2020 POPSUGAR Reading Challenge

We’re not even going to try to play it cool. The sixth edition of the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge is nearing its 2020 reading of the game in a big way. In addition to the 40 standard book challenge requests, we are bringing back the 10 “advanced” instructions for bibliophiles in search of something extra. Are you ready for a plot twist? This year, the advanced section is all 2020 theme, from “a book set in the 1920s” to “, a book with a character with a vision impairment or improvement (a nod to 20/20 vision).”

Otherwise the 2020 reading challenge is the best ever, is that we now have an exclusive POPSUGAR reading Club on Facebook! Join this community reading of POPSUGAR editors and other readers around the world to share reading recs for the challenge, come when you are confused in a command prompt, share, bullet journal ideas, or simply chat about the latest page-turner that you are obsessed with. In fact, one of the prompts is “a book recommended by your favorite blog, vlog, podcast, or on-line book club” and our the members have been actively sharing their reading cer in the group. (Join the group to see the rec!)

We hope that this year the challenge expands its horizons and restarted the love of reading in 2020, maybe even pushing to read something that I would never have picked up before purely based on the “a book I picked up because the title caught the attention,” or “a book with a great first line” of the messages. Who knows, you may discover a new favorite genre as a bildungsroman, get a new perspective “a book by a trans or non-binary, author,” learn something about “a subject which he knows nothing,” or to be transported to “a country that starts with ‘C’ that you’ve always wanted to visit.

Whatever the path you take in 2020, we’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the point of the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge is for fun! So you are ready to get started?
