Stephenie Meyer Releases Twilight Novel Midnight Sun

Imagine this: it’s 2008, Twilight the mania is in full force and effect, and has stumbled across the the first 12 chapters of Midnight Sun. Now, it is the year 2020 and Stephenie Meyer has finally published the full companion novel. In case you need a refresher, Midnight Sun recounts the events of Twilight from Edward Cullen point of view.

If you are wondering why there was not a long wait — since it’s been 15 years since Twilight it was originally published — you can thank the internet. Meyer had originally planned, and in the release of Midnight Sun in 2008, but was cancelled the release due to the leak of his unfinished project, calling the work “an exercise in character development that got wildly out of hand.“She finally posted a partial draft of the novel in your web page.

After the announcement, Meyer shared a letter to fans on his website, writing, “While I was procrastinating some real editing work (I’m always at my most creative when procrastinating), I started to wonder how the first chapter of Twilight would read if it were written from the perspective of Edward. There is much more to his side of the story that is not Beautiful [Swan]’s in the first chapter.” Now that Midnight Sun is out, here is the hope for a possible reboot in the works!
