Up there with The Little Mermaid, Splash it is one of those movies full of magic that makes the possibility of becoming a mermaid is to feel a little more real. During the most recent episode of Josh Gad’s Gathered Apart YouTube series, the Frozen star met Tom Hanks, Daryl Hannah, Schitt’s Creek star Eugene Levy, and most of the Splash the crew discuss some of the best moments of the 1984 movie.
The Director Ron Howard and producer Bryan Grazer also made an appearance to discuss some of the best behind the scenes moments from filming and what it took to make a movie with special effects that is maintained until today. Hanks even revealed that Hannah spent hours of being glued to your mermaid tail before filming. “I still have the scar,” Hannah said, before talking about what it was like to film his iconic underwater scene kiss Hanks without masks. “It was hit or miss if we have the signs or understood,” she said.
Towards the end of the video, Ryan Reynolds also did a special guest to pay a sweet tribute to the late John Candy, who played Freddie Bauer, Allen (Hanks) brother in the film.
