Mysteries have always been my favorite book genre. As a child I grew up watching Swing arm, Scooby-Dooand the reading of the whole of the Nancy Drew catalog, I pretty much soaked up any mystery I could get my hands on. That includes all 10 of the The Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley books. Based on the musical video of the series of the same name, the books are full of ’90s references and are like a trip back in time. Decorated in full trenchcoats, 40 detective hats and matching sunglasses, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen grace the cover of every story willing to take on volcanoes, ghosts, Ufos, and, of course, the space of the camp.
From mysterious haunted houses spooky cruise ship, was not in any part of these primary school-age detectives was going to go, that I do not follow. Even as a third grader, I remember checking these out from the school library and holding on to them for as long as I could before I needed to return it to them. True fans also know that, after the original 10 copies, the series continued with almost 50 issues of The New Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashleythat looks a little bit older Mary-Kate and Ashley solve mysteries and the maintenance of the busy social life.
If you are familiar with Mary-Kate and Ashley of the extensive list of movies, I highly recommend giving these a quick read. Shop action-packed books for you ahead and hold their library cards due to the fact that the nostalgia is about to hit hard.
