See Jake Gyllenhaal Sing His New Song, “on the Road”

So I think I’m in love with Jake Gyllenhaal. OK, I was already in love with him, but after listening to his new song, “Through the Form,” my feelings have grown ten-fold. The 39-year-old actor released the beautiful ballad Friday, in collaboration with the composer Jeanine Tesori and writer David Lindsay-Abaire. Together, the trio is helping to support the organization of the 24 Hours Playsthat unites communities to produce plays and musicals that are written, rehearsed, and performed in 24 hours.

“A song of love in the age of the quarantine, this is” in THE WAY ” of the most brilliant minds of @jeaninetesori and @lindsayabaire,” Gyllenhaal captioned an Instagram video of his performance. “Written and recorded in 24 hours for the @24hourplays, it was an honor to work with these two on the way! If you can, please donate to @24hourplays.”

For those who don’t know, Gyllenhaal is a very expert singer and Broadway star. In April, he showed off his vocals live YouTube celebration for composer Stephen Sondheim’s 90th birthday. He and Annaleigh Ashford sang a passionate duet of “Move” of the Sunday in the Park With George. The musical, which stars Gyllenhaal and Ashford, is one of Sondheim, the works, and is supposed to be released this summer. See Gyllenhaal croon “in the Way” in the clip above, then check out more of his amazing singing videos!
