Read the Reactions to Harry Styles of the “Watermelon Sugar” Video

What did Harry Styles we know not? The singer and hedonistic galán has recently released the music video for “Watermelon Sugar” off of their second album, Fine Lineand it is unintentionally (or intentionally), which acts as a balm to our current collective existence, full of all the comforts, we are longing for: beach outings, bags picnics, sharing food with friends, the affection. In fact, it is even clearly stated in the beginning of the video is “dedicated to playing”!

Of course, the video was filmed months ago — before “social distancing” became part of our lexicon — but it feels somehow prophetic. Styles knew that we were going to need some semblance of a summer, particularly as we deal with the understanding that the summer will see a lot of different things this year. Existential philosopher Albert Camus once wrote, “In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me was an invincible summer.” In the midst of a pandemic, Styles are illuminating the invincible summer within us all.

The video is also very hot. (Sorry, but needed to be said.) One has to assume that the Styles have been seen Call Me by Your Namebecause, certainly, it exposes the message that the watermelon is a Style of what the peach was for Elio. Sprinkled in are truly stunning photos of the babeliest girls like sunbathing or feeding Styles of the owner of the fruit. There are a lot of fondling, the watermelon juice everywhere, and, of course, the firmness of shooting Styles caressing the edge of a watermelon, that momentarily destroyed the internet before bringing it back to life.

Music video of this scale, and the anticipation often generate buzz here at POPSUGAR, but the editors had feelings about this. Later, enjoy one of our most pressing questions, comments, and concerns.
