Naya Rivera’s sister, Nickayla, took to Instagram on Saturday to reflect on the special bond you shared with the deceased Glee star, who died by accidental drowning in California’s Lake Piru at the beginning of July. “There are No words to describe my love for you”, subtitled a flashback snap of her and Naya. “Side by side or miles apart, our connection is infinite. Our bond is unbreakable. We were complete opposites, however, simultaneously to the same. The ying of my yang. I did not know that by the loss of you, I was going to meet a lot of you in myself.”
Nickayla, then spoke about his struggle of coping with Naya to death before ending on a hopeful note. “I’ve never known a life without you in it and I still can’t imagine it,” she wrote. “My world is upside down. But through it all, everything that we were, we are still. I’ll always look with the same eyes that I did when I was young. My shmaya, I’ll love you for all eternity & I miss you every second of my life.”
The praise came in the same day Naya’s ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey, broke his silence in an Instagram tribute. The married couple from 2014 to 2018, and shared 4 years of age, son, Josey. “Life is not fair,” Ryan wrote. “I don’t know what to say…I am grateful for our time and our journey that brought us together and gave us the most sweet and caring child, very smart that we could expect”.
