Michelle Obama and Jill Biden have set up quite a badass friendship since their husbands took office together for the first time 12 years ago. The former first and second ladies spent plenty of time working side by side, from the campaign trail to speaking engagements at the White House. While Barack Obama and Joe Biden might be famous for their bond, Michelle and Jill’s under-the-radar sisterhood is equally as sweet.
Over their two terms, Michelle and Jill were frequently photographed together. They joked and hugged and even shared an umbrella at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Their friendship continues into 2020 as Michelle spoke during the Democratic National Convention on Aug. 17 in support of Joe’s presidential campaign. Jill tweeted her friend a special message on the night of: “Love you, MO❤️” Michelle responded the next day, right before Jill made her own public appearance, with another cute note, “Love you back, Jill. I can’t wait to hear your speech. Good luck tonight!❤️”
