Matthew McConaughey to Release a book of Memoirs Called Greenlights

AUSTIN, TEXAS - JANUARY 21: Matthew McConaughey participates in a Q&A after a special screening of his new film

Matthew McConaughey: the actor, the philanthropist, the teacher, and now author. On the 29th of July, the True Detective the star revealed that he has been working on a book called Greenlights who have made their personal journal entries and reflections of the past few years. “This is not a traditional memoir or an advice book, but rather an interactive book based on the adventures of my life,” he said in McConaughey a statement to ABC News. “The adventures that have been important, instructive, and funny, sometimes, because they were meant to be but above all because it does not try to be”. Well, well, well, let’s read!

He later elaborated in an Instagram video, saying that he decided to compile his personal notes of more than two years. He calls the book Greenlights because it is a story about how we all can catch more in this life that we are living. “See that you do not like the red and the yellow of the lights because they occupy our time, right?” McConaughey said. “But when we realize that everything will eventually turn green, which is when they reveal their rhyme, which is when the life is a poem, and when we started to get what we want and what we need at the same time.” Well, that’s a McConaughey-esque description if I ever heard one.

A casual listen to your clip makes me realize that he was born to read books on audio, so I can catch the hop on Audible if you decide to burn one of them. In the meantime, take a look at his cold and casual announcement video below. Keep an eye out for Greenlights wherever books are sold from October onwards. 20.
