Small Fires Everywhere star Lexi Underwood, delivered a powerful speech during a Black Lives Matter protest in los ANGELES on Wednesday. The 16-year-old actress, who he shared a clip of his address on Twitter, revealed that he spoke with Los Angeles police chief Michel Moore and the commissioners about the behaviour of the police during peaceful protests. “Yesterday I spoke with the Head of Moore and the rest of the los angeles police commission,” he said. “I shared with them stories about how the police of los angeles in all of these peaceful protests how they have been very disrespectful to the people who are simply asking to be treated equally. All we are asking is to be treated with the same respect as our white counterparts. That’s all.”

Lexi went on to share how the social injustices against Black people that have contributed to the mental and emotional damage to the community. “There is a lot of trauma from being just a child, and see that we are countlessly being beaten and killed in the streets by people who are supposed to protect and serve us,” he said. “Do you understand what it feels like? I don’t know if I am close to. I don’t know if my mother is the following. I don’t know if my friends are to the side. I don’t know if my cousins following. I don’t know if my friends are to the side. Many thanks to all for coming and showing support. I’m with all of you. I am with you all, and I’m sending my love and my prayers your way. Thank you.”
Lexi’s speech came in the midst of the global call to action after the murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. The tragedies that have led to powerful demands for justice of the celebrities, including Barack Obama, Beyoncé, Dwayne Johnson, and Star Wars the actors John Boyega and Naomi Ackie. While the authors in George and Ahmaud cases face charges, officials involved in the murder of Breonna still have not stopped.
