After a two-year battle against breast cancer, the actress Kelly Preston died on July 12 at the age of 57 years. After the news, her husband, John Travolta, sent a heartfelt message on Instagram. The couple had been married for almost 29 yearsafter meeting on the set of 1989’s The Expertsand had three children together: 20-year-old daughter Ella, 9 years old, son of Benjamin, and a son named Jett, who died at the age of 16 years in 2009.
“It is with great heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife, Kelly, has lost his two-year battle against breast cancer,” she wrote next to a picture of Kelly. “She fought a brave fight with the love and support of so many people. My family and I will always be grateful to her doctors and nurses at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, all medical centers that have helped, as well as many of their friends and loved ones who have been at his side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I’m going to take some time to be with the children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you do not hear from us for a time. But please, I know I’m going to feel your love rain in the coming weeks and months as you heal.” He signed it with, “with All my love, JT.”
