Even seven years after the final show of the season, Jim jokes in The Office continue to creep into my subconscious whenever I need a laugh, but it turns out that one of his best jokes was not even included in the sample. During the “Casino Night” episode of Angela Kinsey and Jenna Fischer podcast, Office LadiesJohn Krasinski, revealed that he made a joke to Fischer IRL, and is one of the Halpert record books.
“You know what’s sad about that joke? I realized that I’m a bad joker that I stole that joke from [George] Clooney.”
“John, you played a prank on me in the whole nine years of The Officeas one fully formed, well thought-out joke,” Fischer said. “It was at Schrute Farms, and you and I had this scene where we had to drive up to the house several times, and what we are doing and I’m getting increasingly hot.” Fischer then went on to explain that, despite the fact that none of the Office the cast was particularly “naughty,” Krasinski had changed intentionally Fischer seat warmer in the car until the highest value to get a sweat.
“You know what’s sad about that joke?” Krasinski admitted. “I realized that I’m a bad joker that I stole that joke from [George] Clooney. When we were doing Leatherheads what he did for me, this is how unoriginal I am.” While Krasinski is not as big of a joker as his character on the screen, Fischer was quite impressed and looks back on the joke as a good memory of their days together in a shoot.
In addition to sharing the secrets of behind the scenes of one of our favorite programs, Krasinski also has been host of Some Good News, a weekly YouTube series that sheds light on the positive news going on around the world right now. In the last few episodes, has hosted a virtual floor and a virtual graduation for students who are celebrating their school milestones this year.
