Joey King, and Joel Courtney to Talk about the Kissing Booth 2

A Kiss In The Booth 2

When it comes to The Cabin Of Kisses movies, one of the most captivating of the relationship is not romantic at all. Elle and Lee have been best friends since they were children, which is very evident by the way the sync them. Not only they know like the palm of their hands, but even has a list of rules to follow to ensure that their friendship will always remain intact. Of course, that all changes when She falls in love with Lee’s older brother Noah.

Although the first and the second film to center around Elle’s rather complicated relationship with Noah, that has not stopped fans (me included) shipping Elle and Lee. I mean, come on, it’s the classic romantic comedy, a metaphor for falling in love with his best friend. While we are crossing our fingers for a third movie, you probably shouldn’t hold your breath for a Elle and Lee’s romance. According to Joey King, and Joel Courtney, it would never work as a couple.

“I actually really appreciate the almost brother nature of our friendship in this movie,” Courtney admitted. “There is nothing physical about our relationship beyond a bit of roughhousing that comes with all the friendships. But it is one of those things that is a special relationship and if they were even ever to try, you just crumble the friendship.”

“We did a platonic friendship that meant a lot, and not to twist into anything other than what it was.”

King of all hearts, agreed, adding that their platonic relationship is one of the main things that she loves about the movies. “We did a platonic friendship that meant a lot, and we don’t twist it into anything other than what it was,” he said. “Though [the movies] they are dramatic and large and very playful, there is a lot of reality to these stories and this particular film in general. I think that one of those factors is the real way of Elle and Lee’s friendship is a lot of the real life platonist, to say different sex friendships. I mean, Joel and I are super close in real life and it is very nice because our characters also share the same closeness, but nothing happens between them. I think we love it, because it is real life. Having friends of the opposite sex and nothing happens.”
