Don’t worry, Lizzie McGuire fans — there is still hope for the reboot, according to Jake Thomas. The actor, who made Matt McGuire famous, recently sat down for a virtual interview with fellow Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano of re-visiting the fair and chat about the future. Roman and Thomas waxed nostalgic for the decade of 2000, to see old episodes of the first season, and of course, she couldn’t help, but it asks for an update on the show’s rebirth.
The Fans were originally of joy when the Lizzie McGuire restart filming began in association with Disney+, but things took a turn when it stops the production in January and the show’s original creator Terri Minsky resigned as showrunner. Hilary Duff pleaded with Disney to let the series move to Hulu for that his character could be properly an adult story, and there has been little news since then. However, Thomas makes it sound like there is a chance we will see the McGuire family again!
“I think everything is going to be alright,” said Roman. “I am full of hope.” We’re going to have! Watch the video above to see Thomas and Roman full chat.
