Dan Stevens stars in a Netflix strange new film Eurovision Song contest: The Story of the Fire of the Sagaand to say that he steals the show would be an understatement. The actor stars as a talented singer-Russian named Alexander Lemtov, who competes against Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams characters in Eurovision. Although Stevens has a lot of experience singing in the movie musical, fans were surprised to know that he is not really Alexander’s singing of a great number of “Lion Love” in the film.
Of course, it was no fault of yours. During an interview with the Radio, the actor admitted that he was about to record his version of the track when the coronavirus pandemic of hit and everyone put in lockdown. Instead, the theme is sung by Erik Mjönes in the film. “We stuck with the original track, which is sung by an amazing Swedish baritone,” Stevens explained. “I love the quality of your voice, and I think that is great and very, very funny.”
Although he was not able to sing his character’s big solo, he believes that his voice was used for the group number, which is the medley of songs from “Believe” by Cher, “Waterloo” by ABBA, and “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. “The style of it is so, so fun and adjusts to the Lemtov character so well,” about Alejandro’s singing voice. “I don’t know if I could ever have sung as well as Erik anyway.” We think that with his performances in Beauty and the Beast I was going to say the opposite!
