How Did the Dead to Me Season 1 Final?

A twisting thriller with a Grey’s anatomy‘s emotional sucker punch, Netflix is superbingeable Dead to Me is officially back with a long awaited second season. As we keep our fingers crossed for Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini) to rekindle their complicated friendship, we also have a lot of questions about what’s going to happen next. The season one, after all, it ends in a cliffhanger that can really go in any one of multiple addresses. As it’s been a minute since the series premiered, here is a review of the end, of a so dark and twisted that not even Judy can sage chases away the bad vibes.

How Ted Research Go?

The end begins with Judy tears, confessing that she hit Ted, Jen’s husband, with her car and asking Jen what she can do to make things better. After a beat, Jen tells him that she can die. (Yikes.) Things get worse from here for Judy — after learning that she is in early menopause and to lose Jen’s trust, Judy discovers that his friend Abe is dead.

The next day, Jen, hit the police station and tells the Detective Perez (Diana Maria Riva) that Judy killed Ted. Unfortunately, Doe can’t do much with Judy’s confession, which really pisses off Jen. Later, Judy, of course, appears in an open house, telling Jen that she will turn itself and take the maximum penalty. Jen threaten to Ted gun, forcing Judy to leave. And so Judy leaves, remove all the money from your account with your ex-Steve (James Marsden). Oh, Steve. We have many more on it later.

What Happens to Jen at the Children?

As much as Dead to Me it is a thriller about friendship, it’s also about Jen struggling to keep his family. Jen children deal with the pain very differently. His son Henry (Luke Roessler) to get in touch with your spiritual side, getting a true baptism. Right after the ceremony, Judy stops by and gives you a bird out of wood, a nod to how he believed that his father was a bird by the window. It is not just any ordinary statue, though. Jen later finds a rolled up cashier’s check for $500,000 in it.

Charlie (Sam McCarthy) has not been dealing with the death of his father as well as his little brother. After a gun and drug bust, he chooses to live with her paternal grandmother, Lorna (Valerie Mahaffey), the discomfort with Jen to discuss with Ted before his death. But as Jen tentatively predicted, Charlie finally returns in the middle of the night. His explanation? Lorna has a pill problem and choking him, calling him Teddy. Then, cue the awws: avant-garde, Charlie finally tells his mother that he loves her! However, things don’t stay warm and cozy for long.

Where Does Steve End Up?

Steve actually wins the prize for horrible ex of the year. Before confessing to Jen, Judy becomes in the money laundering. With the feds after him, Steve is desperate to find Judy and move their money. This takes you to Jen in the middle of the night. Unfortunately (or fortunately), Steve lets slip that he was with Judy the night of Ted’s death, while in get rid of your ex. Jen is very interested in why he walked away, knowing Judy is not just hit and run. Steve can’t smooth-talk your way out of this more — Jen points her weapon directly at him, telling him to leave his house.

Meanwhile, Judy very drunk at Ted’s memorial. She is in the middle of the road to get run over, but instead of that, the car that comes for deviations in the nick of time. Jen, out of nowhere, calls you to follow him. Cut to Jen’s house, where both women are looking down at Steve, who apparently shot and floating in the pool Great Gatsby-style. Can Steve’s death to once again forge a link between Jen and Judy? We’ll have to see how season two kicks things.
