Tamara Intelligent of the race is an impressive start. The young British actor has already worked with the BBC, Netflix, and Disney, before reaching your 16th birthday. Tamara, most recently played the role of Juliet Butler in the Disney+ adaptation of Artemis Fowlalong with Judy Dench and Colin Farrell. While excited for her Disney debut, Tamara took a moment to chat with POPSUGAR about his love for the films of fantasy, favorite beauty products, and what she thinks about the current cultural climate.

Before getting to our chat, it was important for Tamara to make clear that she is “really shocked and devastated by the death of George Floyd and the stories that we have heard over the years, of so many others.” She continued, “I stand in solidarity with all those who are currently speaking out against this great injustice. Also, now more than ever, we have the opportunity to change, to hope, to change the narrative, to examine its responsibility, to be willing to be uncomfortable, and educate ourselves.” When I was 15, I was not as aware or vocal when it came to social justice. Tamara is a natural leader in that she understands the platform that he has earned, and sees the importance of being a positive role model and encouraging these difficult conversations between the younger public.
A true Londoner, Tamara has lived in the capital all her life, expressing how much he loves his city and its people. It seems that London loves it so much, as Tamara launched her career with Netflix and the BBC, at the age of 10, appearing in CBBC’s fantasy television series The Worst Witchwhile professionally dancing on the side. “I love the fantasy of the movies!”, says Tamara. “My favorite movie of all time is Harry Potter. We see that every Christmas, since I was born. I’ve also auditioned for some normal things but I feel that fantasy is my thing. Maybe I’m magical?”, she jokes. When Tamara found out she landed a role with Disney, she was frightened. “I was like, ‘Oh, my god. Disney. Disney!’ I arrived the first day and they were like, ‘Before you get started, we’re going to do two to three weeks of stunt training”. I was like, ‘you know what? I have this, because I’ve danced for a while, and I was going to gymnastics.”
When Tamara is not being magical in the cinema, loves to create beauty looks that she shares in her Instagram accountand the test of skin care and hair care products. Tamara’s favorite product for curly hair, is a staple in the Black community — Brightness of the SCurl No Drip Curl Activator Moisturizer ($9). “It has argan oil in it, super hydrating, gives curls a very good appearance and brightness,” Tamara explains. She is also a big fan of The normal care of the skin”, which make some assets that are really good for orientation of spots,” she says. Beauty-wise, Tamara loves to experiment with Morphe products, and try brands like MAC, Charlotte Tilbury and Tarte.
“The makeup is just for fun,” Tamara says. “With the way I see it, my face is a piece of paper and my brushes are the brushes and the colors of the palette. Today, what am I going to do? I’m going to look at myself in the mirror and see, what can I do for myself today? What should I be? Can I be a bird, I can be a butterfly, I’m going to be this, that. I’m going to be whatever I want.”
