Marvel Studios has taken advantage of the filmmaker Nia DaCosta to direct Captain Marvel 2, Deadline reported for the first time on Wednesday afternoon. DaCosta — who is the director of the horror film Candyman — is the first Black woman and the fourth woman to direct a Marvel Studios picture. DaCosta follow Anna Boden, who led the first Captain MarvelCate Shortland, director of The Black Widowand Chloé Zhao, who led Eternal. DaCosta first time he won great critical acclaim for his debut as a director Little Woods, a suspense film starring Lily James and Tessa Thompson.
Captain Marvel 2 is set to release on the 8th of July of 2022, where we will see Brie Larson as Carol Danvers back on the screens. While the first Captain Marvel the film was directed by Boden and Ryan Fleck, Marvel with frequency changes of directors for their franchises, as it did for Iron Man and Captain America. There is not much to know about the Captain Marvel sequel, but we certainly have a lot of questions we want answers to come next summer.
