Can Payton Win the Race for the Senate in The politics of Season 2?

THE POLITICAL (L to r) JULIA SCHLAEPFER as ALICE CHARLES, BEN PLATT as PAYTON HOBART, LAURA DREYFUSS as MCAFEE WESTBROOK, THEO GERMAINE as JAMES SULLIVAN, and RAHNE JONES as SKYE LEIGHTON in the episode 2 of the POLITICIAN. Cr. COURTESY OF NETFLIX/NETFLIX 2020

Season two of Netflix’s The Political it is a worthy candidate for your next binge session. The seven-episode delivery follows the powerful, scandalous, and downright dirty battle between Payton Hobart (Ben Platt) and From Standish (Judith Light), as they run in New York’s 27th District state senator. Of blackmail to bother a rival of the office, the rivals stop at almost nothing to take each other. So who wins the race? Well, the short answer is Payton, but how he asserts that the victory is not so simple.

Soon, it seems as if Dede is going to win the election. But thanks to the heavy prospecting and climate change focused cross-Payton field, the surveys, even, showing the two candidates are neck and neck. After the constituents officially cast their votes, has revealed that Payton and Dede tied, and the winner will be chosen by a game of roshambo. Payton and Dede go into analytical overload, trying to develop different strategies ways to win the game, but Dede that finally gives the choice to Payton, saying that it is time for a new generation of leaders to take the reins. (Platt — I want to say, Payton — amazing performances of “flee” and “Corner of the Sky” also help to shift From the mind.)

But there is more. Although Payton accepts the victory, he is not completely satisfied from the Infinite Jackson (Zoey Deutch) secret stole an officer of the ballot box of a polling place with, presumably, a high percentage of Dede’s followers. The votes were never counted, what makes Payton, I think he gains nothing. However, when Payton’s team — James Sullivan (Theo Germaine), McAfee Westbrook (Laura Dreyfuss), and Skye Leighton (Rahne Jones) — to decide on a recount of the ballots of curiosity, you realize that you legitimately did win.

In two years of flash-forward, Payton is a success and a senator who has made great progress in the fight against climate change. He is also married to Alice (Julia Schlaepfer), and they share an adorable son named Archie. (Oh, and McAfee has a boyfriend — get it, girl!) But if you think that everything ends there, then you do not know The Political. Similar to the first season of the conclusion, the second delivery very well set a potential third chapter.

After receiving the senate of the race, Dede teams with Payton’s mother, Georgina (Gwyneth Paltrow), to run as his VICE president in the presidential elections. They end up winning, but Georgina is committed to serve only one term, paving the way for Dede to run for president in four years. And that makes you From wanting to be his running mate? Payton, of course. Dede says Payton his plan and asks him if he is to join forces in a campaign at the national level. Although the episode ends before Payton could respond, his soft laughter and the look of fire in his eyes enough to confirm Dede and Payton are coming to the Oval Office.
