As a historian, one of my biggest frustrations has been historical films with Black characters tend to focus on the tragedy that the person who lives in a racist society. Too often, the Black are stories to tremble a modern finger on the past for racist behavior and actions. This is very sad because Black Americans have lived interesting and diverse life, however, which is rarely seen on the silver screen. This deprives Black Americans and our children to be able to see people that look like us doing incredible things. Luckily, the story has some wonderful stories for us.
As many of the studio executives you can finally wonder what movies he should do now that you have all sent tweets of support to the recent protests, I would like to present these five Black people that deserve to be the center of their own moving images.
