Beyoncé has partnered with the NAACP, through its BeyGOOD foundation to create an impact fund to support Black-owned businesses in the united states, and applications are open now. The BeyGOOD foundation was launched for the first time in 2013 with the aim to inspire people to be kind and charitable to themselves, their communities and the world around them. In collaboration with the NAACP, which seeks to fight for racial equality and justice in the united states — the organization will provide scholarships of $10,000 to Black business owners in selected cities for a short time with the specific purpose of replacement of the damaged property.
“In the last couple of months, the pandemic and outpours for justice in the Black community and across the country has been felt in all areas of our life, even the way our local businesses continue to operate,” the civil rights organization, said in a statement. “The challenges of Black business owners of the navigation in the weather can not be underestimated, as the effects of the uprisings across the country have led many companies to be placed in a desperate situation due to damages and other small business needs.”
Applications are open from July 9 to July 18, and eligible businesses must be located in one of the following cities: Houston, Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, or Minneapolis, MN.
