In these summer days, TELEVISION means something very different to summer TV in the year 2000 meant. Today, this usually indicates an oncoming storm bit awkward reality shows us that, occasionally, the cable drama, and a bunch of new streaming options. But 20 years ago, the summer of the TV had a very different philosophy behind it. Before the networks realized that summer was perfectly a good time to air original programming, the season was pretty full of repeats of the best programs of the network, in addition to a handful of low grade replacements and some of the first reality programs. On the positive side, however, that year also saw the debut of some of the big-name shows that are, surprisingly, still summer staple today!
