I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t see nearly as many Bollywood films as I used to while I lived at home with my parents. Lucky for me, spending the last few months in the home has reignited my ongoing love affair with Bollywood movies and music.
We are all (hopefully) in the middle of a period of self-reflection, and in doing so, it has been exciting for me to see that, despite of Bollywood has a long way to go (as we all do), has made great progress in the last 10 years, from the songs focused on the empowerment of women (as of the end of the decade of Irrfan Khan, the last movie) to a romantic comedy the glow of a light in a very under-represented LGBTQ+ community in India. So, if you are already familiar with the cultural richness of the world of Bollywood or have yet to take a bath, I have 10 songs for you to launch your forever fandom in a world where the music will never go out of fashion. And thank god for that!
