A kiss in the Cockpit 2: Who Is the Singing, in the Halloween Dance?

I love the slow dance scenes in romantic movies, and the one shared between Elle (Joey King) and Framework (Taylor Zakhar Perez) in A Kiss In The Booth 2 it is one of the film’s emotional highlights. In the midst of their Halloween party, it seems that the two of them finally let their guards down as they embrace each other and slowly sway back and forth beneath the neon lights of the dark venue. Their body language says everything I need to know, their shared affection is obvious and captivating, but it’s the music in this scene that takes the emotional tension to a whole new level.

The live band plays a rich and soft melody resonating across the screen as the lyrics of the song to gradually build on a definition of “not all who wander are lost.” Elle and Marco look in the eyes of others and, in the classic rom-com fashion, the world around them is blurred. It is one of those movie moments where the music says much more than the characters ever could.

If you are dying to know more about the song used during this scene, I’m happy to report that I have the answers. The powerful number is called “Wonderlust” by Chicago-born musician Will Postof his album entitled, 2018 Beautiful Love. I had a little more of 10,000 streams before TKB2 it premiered, and I have the feeling that is about to explode even more. Post do not actually appear in the film; actor Sean Barenblatt is lip-syncing on the stage.

The first film heavily featured classic ’80s songs, and while I wasn’t totally against it, I liked to see the franchise branch out in a more modern and varied line of music. It is one of the many changes that drastically improved the sequel of the original. Other musical highlights of the film include each time that we see a Frame with a guitar, and yes that is really Lashon Perez song!
