13 Reasons why: Justin is wearing Jeff’s White Tuxedo in Season 4

13 REASONS WHY

13 Reasons Why‘s remarkable first season focuses on the suicide of Hannah Baker, but if you forgot the other the untimely death of Jeff Atkins — you missed one of the main callback in season four.

Let’s rewind to the first season, episode five: “Tape 3, Side A.” the Clay is the mentoring of jock and-good-guy Jeff, and the two make a deal that if Jeff becomes greater than C, the Clay go to the school dance. The clay loses and ends up in the dance. This ends up being a crucial turning point in Hannah’s story, but there is also an important scene in which the Clay is found with Jeff in the stands and Jeff tries to convince him to ask Hannah to dance. Currently, Jeff is wearing a grey suit. But, in plasticine of the dream sequence that opens the episode, Jeff is wearing a white tuxedo.

Justin Foley wears the same white tuxedo — save the buttons to the Freedom of the high School graduation party in season four’s ninth episode. Those that have finished the end of the season to know this wardrobe choice is not a coincidence, the tux, prefigures Justin destination. Jeff Atkins dies in a car accident the night of Jessica Davis game on the season, while Justin succumbs to AIDS in the final series.

This had to be a deliberate callback in a season that also included cameos from season one of the actors Tommy Dorfman and Michele Selene Ang. Although the final show of the season is definitely not my cup of tea, this particular time I touch the fiber. Time to rewatch season?
