Why is well Alexis Was Just at the End of Schitt’s Creek

Annie Murphy stole our hearts the minute Alexis de la Rosa got in the frame with its impossible dangly pearl earrings and rushed down from his family opulent staircase to allege that its extensive portfolio of the collection does not get repossessed. (Her boyfriend bought for her, so that technically they belong to him.)

During the execution of Schitt’s Creeksome of Alexis’s most memorable lines have to do with the many boyfriends that she has had through the years and all the more interesting adventures I have had, from Somalia to south africa. But, after your break up with Ted in season six, and his brief stay with Artie — Alexis leaves Schitt’s Creek alone and there are no plans to pursue any type of future romance. Even a month after the end air, I think that is the best decision the writers could have done for her.

She is a good friend, a loving sister, and someone who deserves to have confidence in yourself, regardless of whether she is in a relationship or not.

From the minute the Rose family arrives at the motel, Alexis is devastated, both about your family’s sudden bankruptcy and your millionaire boyfriend Stavros clubbing in a foreign country without it. In case you need a refresher, he is the one who abandoned her on a trip to Rio de janeiro, gave his ex-wife’s engagement ring, and went to Diddy’s white party without her. Unfortunately for Alexis, her other ex-boyfriends doesn’t seem much better. It was not the drug lord of Thailand, which is trapped in your trunk as a teenager, the Saudi prince held her hostage in his palace, the Uganda smuggler of diamonds that have kidnapped his friend, the sultan’s nephew who was not allowed to speak with her, and not one, but two substitute teachers.

Alexis has also had his fair share of relationships and encounters with many celebrities, including her claims that she casually dated Prince Harry, connected with Josh Groban and Adam Levine, sexted with Zac Efron, and he had his first kiss with Jared Leto. Despite all of these delighting and highly unlikely — stories, some of Alexis’s most notable relationships are with the men she meets on the show, that is to say, Mutt and Ted.

Mutt Schitt (yes, I promise, that is his name) is Roland and Jocelyn eldest son and is known as a melancholy drifter who lives on a farm on the outskirts of the city. He and Alexis meet at the tailgating party shortly after the Roses arrive in Schitt’s Creek. The two later assigned to the service of the community as a whole, resulting in a large amount of sexual tension and rainy fun night in Mutt of the barn.

But don’t spend a lot of time before Mutt shaves his character-the definition of the beard and it goes for a undetermined amount of time hunting for the pine cones, resulting in the long awaited demise of their relationship. Apart from the fact that they had completely different personalities and interests, Mutt and Alexis had a deep relationship based almost entirely on the attraction, making it is not better to her than her other boyfriends.

Then there is Ted Mullens, the city veterinarian who easily charms Alexis with her sweet nature and winning smile. Although he took an interest in Alexis back in season one, their decision to go with a Mutt left in its place to those who have a broken heart until the third season when Alexis realizes that she made a mistake.

Unlike her previous boyfriends, Ted takes the time to listen, and checks in with her to make sure she is ok during any family drama, and encourages her to follow her passions and dreams. While Alexis can be a lot to handle, he never judges for being her and gently guide in a better direction using nothing more than his natural goodness when you can. He also makes a lot of adorable corny animal jokes and helps Alexis when she realizes that he has lice, so that he is the best.

Even after their relationship fizzles out, Ted makes an effort to support Alexis by showing up to her graduation from high school. It is traits like these that make Ted the most wonderful boyfriend, Alexis has had, and she seems to agree, that is the reason for your decision not to go to the Galapagos islands in the season of six that was made with some helpful advice from Twyla — it weighs too much on it. Forced to choose between going to live indefinitely with Ted on an island she knows she will hate you and go to the City of New York alone, Alexis, choose the second, breaking his own heart and ours.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner and star Dan Levy revealed that Alexis and Ted’s breakup was not always planned. “The Alexis-Ted revelation was a four-season arc,” Levy said. “I thought that Alexis and Ted was going to be the wedding at the end of the series — and then I foolishly said Annie [there would be a double wedding]. I wanted to say at the moment, but the greater part of the changes.”

When asked about their feelings about Ted and Alexis the break-up, Annie Murphy explained that she was devastated. “I was like, ‘come on, I can’t wait! Sign me up. It’s going to be a perfect end to the show,” Murphy said, referring to the possibility of Ted and Alexis wedding. “[When it didn’t happen,] I was furious. I threatened to leave the show — and not go ahead with it.”

As heartbroken as I was to see Ted and Alexis spend their last moments together to their favorite booth in the Café Tropical, I was also relieved and happy in a way, it is not that they broke up but that Alexis could finally take some time to the date of the same. With back-to-back relationships since before the beginning of the show, Alexis never had time to find out what he liked and what his true passions were because she was always trying to adjust to the interests of her current boyfriend. With Ted, Alexis found the drive itself to the exercise of these passions, and learn about herself as a person. After your relationship with him, allowed him to be independent and to go after their passions, without the fear of someone dragging in a different direction, and that is what his character needed from the beginning, more than anything.

In the course of six seasons, Alexis has inspired me to be more adventurous, I embrace my personal style, and the voice about what I want. Although his character is outwardly materialistic, a little whiny, and frippet, as Moira might say, Alexis is also very kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and with the means of social communication. She is a good friend, a loving sister, and someone who deserves to have confidence in yourself, regardless of whether she is in a relationship or not. By heading to New York alone, she shows that she’s grown as a person, and not because of their boyfriends, but because of their own decisions and the help of the people that I love — and there is something a little very Alexis about that.
